Conan the Barbarian Movie Review :(

Conan the Barbarian Movie Review

Over my Christmas break I really wanted to catch up on some movies I didn’t get a chance to see in the theater. One of the movies I really wanted to see was Conan the Barbarian, I remember seeing the trailer on the internet and thinking “wow this looks like a kick-ass movie” but boy was I wrong. The film starts off good as you see how Conan grow up to become the ruthless, powerful barbarian ,but as the film progressed you don’t really get to know Conan personality or really any of the other character in the movie. Now don’t get me wrong if you like just constant blood and guts fighting scenes then this is definitely a movie for you, but I thought the story line was nothing I hadn’t seen before and each scene was totally predictable. I love a good kick ass action movie as much as the next girl, but in every action movie there always a little moments of romance, in Conan the romance between Tamera and Conan was short, sweet, and to the point once again predictable. But I loved the makeup and customs, especially on Marique (who played the powerful witch and daughter to a ruthless warlord). Overall I felt like the writer didn’t give a lot of thought or effort for this movie, I also felt like the writer rushed on the movie in general. I was really hoping the 2011 Conan the Barbarian would be better than the old one, but you know what they said, “if it’s not broke don’t fix it”. I recommend that if you want to see Conan the Barbarian watch the 1982 version starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
